Attending the Diesel Black Gold fashion show at New York Fashion Week is always a highlight to the trip. From the celebs sitting front row to the raw warehouse where the show is held, inspiration is on full overdrive. To sum the collection up in a few words: black, white, leather, edgy. You may be thinking this sounds a bit masculine but in reality the looks had a sexy vibe to them.
Three words: Fashion Week Red. It really is funny how a lip color can give a woman the ultimate confidence. Maybe we are just speaking for ourselves? Doubtful. Dare to go red. The color draws attention, in the best kind of way. Look fierce. Feel fashion forward. Give it a try. We have included some of our personal faves below. Seriously, rock red this fall.
Live from New York Fashion Week, we’re bringing you the hottest looks for Spring. Rebecca Minkoff set the stage for us this fashion week season with all the rage in-tune trends. To sum it up, she has perfected the “sexy tomboy” with a beachy yet sporty while flirty and sassy flare. What item are we eyeing other than Mr. Ryan Lochte sitting front row? Skinny light-wash denim. Why head this direction? They are great with nearly any heel, ankle booties, or built-in wedge sneakers.

This season we are wild about faux leather leggings! While it’s still cold outside, make sure you snatch up this item. Styling Tips: Pair a long sleeve top or slouchy sweater with your leggings. Don’t forget to wear some of your favorite pumps to make those legs look even longer. Add a little extra pop with a bold clutch (bright colored or even animal print) and you are ready to go! Perfect for a night out.
We can’t get enough of neon this season. Whether the fluorescent colors are on your nails, jewels or clothes, they are a necessity for Spring and Summer. Let’s talk neon shorts: what an easy way to spice up your outfit. The trend is fun because you can really play with the items you pair with it! You can wear a solid, striped or even a rocker tee with bright shorts. Take a look at some of our favorites.
Those of you who followed NYFW or were lucky enough to attend know that on top of seeing all the hot new fashion trends on the runway, you get a dose of what is to come in beauty. Hair stylist Octavio Molina was behind the scenes doing hair for some of the runway shows at NYFW, and I sat down with him to get his take on what hair is hot and what is not.
Octavio stressed that a big trend come fall will be curly hair. He said that, “believe it or not, we are getting done with the sleek, straight controlled look and moving toward loose, free, organic looking tresses.” At the Chris Benz show, Octavio and his team created a very specific look using Judy Garland and the Kansas Housewives from the 50’s and 60’s as inspiration. The look was a deconstructed curl with height on top and flat sides. To get the look, Octavio suggests aggressive back brushing and using lots of dry shampoo to achieve a matte finish. It’s about time we allow our hair to be wild and disheveled!
